Sandy's Journey

November 2005
5-1/2 years and still amazed!

I'm late with my "anniversary" pictures.. mainly because I don't do much styling and there's really not much to show you other than increased length. 99% of the time my hair is up in a ponytail. Occasionally I'll wear it down, or up in a roll. Hmm.. I don't have a picture of the roll. I'll take one the next time I do that, and I'll add it to this page.

My hair regimen hasn't changed. Weekly shampoo and herbal rinse, followed by moisturizer while it's still soaking wet. I let it air dry and then moisturize again after it's dry.

So.. here are my pics!

January 2005

I used Black Earth Products Crinkles & Curls Styilng Lotion to Braid the locks while wet. The braids were then rolled on rubber rods and left to dry all day and overnight. I took them down the next morning.

These curls lasted for 3 weeks before I broke down and had to wash my hair. There's no telling how long they would have lasted, though. They were still hangin' tough.

June 2005

My usual look -- pulled back so it won't fall around my face.

The top/sides are pulled up and tied. I couldn't get a good picture of the tie, though. Maybe next time. :-) It's not a knot.. I only tied it once.

Here's a rear view to show the length I've reached. Notice the blouse is slightly see-thru. You can gauge the length of my locks by the bra.

I felt like curling my hair again. This time I used Mia Simone's Locs, Coils, Waves,& Curls Moisture Rich Styling Souffle.
After washing my hair, I sectioned it off, put a little of the styling souffle on each section, and twisted it into bantu knots. I took the knots down the next day, ran my fingers through it, and here's the finished product.

I purposely didn't reduce the size of this picture because
I wanted you to see the detail of the hair.  I hope it didn't
make the page take too long to load.
