| Retightening Class! |

WEEK THIRTY-FIVE
I got to meet some of my online Sisterlocks friends as we learned how to care for our hair. Move over JoAnne! I'm on my way to BEAUTIFUL! :-) The class was great. It gave us a little background, showed us how to start locks, and showed us how to tighten them. We were shown a portion of a training video wherein Dr. Cornwell explained about the different locking patterns she developed for the various hair types and textures. Then we were each shown the proper pattern for our specific hair texture. We were shown what not to do. We practiced on little boards with strings in them... then moved up to nappy-hair mannequins... then graduated to :::shudder::: our own hair. That's when I did two of the things we had just learned not to do. LOL! Thankfully Sheila and Pam were there to undo my damage and show me how to undo it if I make the same mistake at home. And I wasn't the only one goofing up, so I didn't feel so bad. :-) I just wish they had been giving a prize for the student who lost her locking tool the most times. I'd have been the winner! :-) By the time we were done, we had a really good handle on it, and I managed to retighten my entire head over the next week and a half... just doing a few rows at night while watching TV. Since then I just retighten a lock or two whenever I feel some that seem to have a lot of new growth. Since my hands are still in my head all the time (I can't help it <g>), I can always feel one or two that need taking care of. I really think this is gonna work for me! I LOVE MY SISTERLOCKS!
