WEEK EIGHTEEN
No rollers or curling irons. Just a decorative comb and a cowrie shell
on the left side; and one of HerbalMomma's handmade hair ornaments on the
right. You can barely see the ornament. It's a small one and it's
hanging right on top of the arm of my glasses. The little shell kept clicking
against my glasses and driving me crazy, so I finally took that one out.
In the future I'll remember not to place hair ornaments there.:-)
WEEK TWENTY-TWO
This is me right after washing my hair. I just towel-dried it (by wrapping the towel around my head and squeezing a bit... not rubbing) and took out the braids and bands. Then I ran my fingers through it. When I looked in the mirror I thought maybe you'd like to see what it looks like dripping wet. The really great thing is that the wet hair looks no different than it does when it's dry. I can style my hair wet like this and go! 5 minutes tops! No waiting for it to dry, or waiting for curls to set, or any of that madness. Even though I'll be glad when the permed ends get whacked, I love the way they curl up all by themselves in the back. I thought they would be all straight and ugly, but the little curlyQs on the ends seem to fit, don't they? I never have to do anything to them to make them curl up like that. They just seem to know that I don't want straight hair anymore. :-) I have one renegade lock on top, though, and the permed end on that one just sticks straight out all the time. Thankfully I found a natural pomade from Carol's Daughter that makes my crazy lock lay down and stay down, but I sure wish that lock would curl up like the hair in the back! I LOVE MY SISTERLOCKS!
